Child Friendly, Bring the Family!

Your Private Tour to the Heart of Spanish History

Visit one of Spain’s most intriguing ancient towns on our day trip to Toledo. Standing dramatically against the Castillan sky and surrounded by the Tagus river like a moat, Toledo rises over the Spanish countryside like a medieval castle. Once considered to be a mecca of spiritual fusion, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian cultures blend together beautifully resulting in hidden details and symbolism sprinkled throughout Toledo. Let our guide’s knowledge of history and geography lead the way as you meander through the maze-like medina exploring the city’s abundant and incredible array of monuments.

What You’ll See & Do

The journey begins from your Madrid hotel with a scenic drive along the river gorge for spectacular views over the town. A visit to the cathedral is a must as is San Román, a museum now dedicated to the Visigoths. We’ll then explore the Cristo de la Luz mosque and Sinagoga del Tránsito.

Afterward, we will see some of El Greco’s famous paintings. El Greco was a prominent Renaissance painter, sculptor, and architect and inside the Iglesia de Santo Tomé, we’ll learn about the Burial of the Count of Orgaz as it is considered one of his masterpieces.

The next stop is the Santa María la Blanca synagogue and it is believed to be one of the oldest synagogue buildings still standing in Europe. It is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful buildings in Toledo.

We’ll then settle somewhere for a mid-afternoon lunch and before we make our way back to Madrid, our visit is not complete without a stop at Don Quixote’s Windmills of Consuegra.
